This Festive Drink – The Method
WHere is an easy interpretation of a cocktail from a new cocktail list. It's a batch pre-mixed that's bursting with essence of the holiday season, rendering it excellent for a celebration. Save the extra syrup for brunch beverages, sweets, or to make more rounds of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 guests
To make the Clementine Cordial (makes 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
Ingredients for the Drink (produces 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Instructions
To prepare the Cordial: Combine the listed ingredients in a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, agitating so the sugar melts. After that, turn off the heat and leave to cool down entirely. Decant into a sterilised bottle, close it and store in the refrigerator, it can be stored for up to one month.
For the Batch Mix: Pour every liquid ingredients into one big jug, let it rest for an hour, then strain , ideally through muslin, to ensure it's fully clarified.
For serving: Pour 85ml from the batch mix into your mixing glass containing ice, and stir carefully for one minute to cool it down. Pour to a cold coupe glass or equivalent, garnish with the cranberries adding the final touch using a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
